Chicken City: The First 2 Minutes

A one-of-a-Kind Documentary Film

Based on Pam Percy’s book, The Complete Chicken, An Entertaining History of Chickens, Chicken City is the first documentary film to feature every aspect of the chicken as a cultural icon.

Guided by host chickens, Frederick and Henrietta, the audience travels through Chicken City, becoming chicken-enlightened. With animation, archival footage and images, this entertaining film delights and captivates viewers.

The Poulet Musée

Museum Director Wyatt Wyandotte guides us through the Poulet Musée, where we learn about chicken history beginning in 3500 BC in southeast Asia, and follow its migration around the globe.

The Cock and Bull Café

At the local hangout, overflowing with ‘chickenalia,’ head waiter Java Jersey describes cocktails and cuisine options for us, and we’ll watch clips of great chicken moments in television and radio.

The Leghorn Library

Head Librarian Abigail Australorp guides us through the aisles where the works of chicken-inspired authors such as Aesop, Chaucer, Hans Christian Anderson, Shakespeare and others reside. (Remember to use your indoor voice.)

The Eggenheim Museum

Tour The Artful Chicken exhibit with curator Olivia Orpington, who tells us all about chickens in the works of Picasso, Chagall, Grant Wood, to name just a few.

The Fowl Film Festival

Fowl Film Festival Director Roger Eggbert, at the Apollo Cinema, spotlights chicken films, including Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush, The Egg and I, chicken chase scenes from Rocky 2, Chicken Run and dozens more.

Roostervelt Academy

Our tour wraps up with wise and witty Professor Agbar, who schools us on chicken sex, famous chickens, the chicken dictionary, and then suggests various chicken-related tourist destinations to visit during summer vacation.
